On the eve of Victory Day, a ceremony honoring veterans of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 was held at the “Mekan Palace” in Ashgabat. In accordance with the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed the day before, war veterans and the widow of a soldier who died in the war were solemnly presented with cash, in the amount of 200 manats, and valuable gifts on behalf of the head of state.
The honoring ceremony was organized by the Ashgabat hakimlik, the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan and public organizations of the country. Many kind words were said to the veterans. The speakers thanked them for the feat of arms, for the heroic work in the rear and for the selfless work carried out today to educate the younger generation. And of course, popular pop artists performed the favorite songs of our veterans.
