PRESIDENTS OF TURKMENISTAN AND UZBEKISTAN HAVE A TELEPHONE CONVERSATION
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov had a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Cordially greeting each other, the leaders of the two friendly states exchanged congratulations on the coming New Year and wished each other good health, happiness and great achievements in all endeavors and joint work in the interest of the peoples of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
The leaders of the two states exchanged views on the further development of bilateral relations in the context of the agreements achieved earlier. The leaders of the states expressed satisfaction with the efficiency of the Turkmen-Uzbek partnership based on the common interests and the strong political will to deepen constructive cooperation.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the solid potential for development of versatile cooperation, including in the fuel and energy complex, the industrial sector, the transport and communications sector, the agro-industrial complex and in a number of other areas, implementing new large-scale joint projects with the aim to ensure the economic prosperity of the two countries and the region as well.
During the telephone conversation, the leaders of the two states exchanged views on the important issues of the regional and global agenda. They confirmed the commitment to coordinated interaction and mutual support, both in the bilateral format and within the framework of the UN, the CIS and other international organizations in the name of ensuring universal peace, security and sustainable development.
In conclusion of the conversation, expressing confidence that the relations between the two states would continue developing, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev once again congratulated each other on the coming New Year and addressed the best wishes to the peoples of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
The telephone conversation took place on the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan.
