THE PRESIDENT OF TURKMENISTAN MADE CYCLING RIDE
On the weekend, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made cycling ride, having looked around new construction sites, which are built in the southern part of the capital, along his journey.
Having declared the health of the nation as the state value, Turkmen leader give inspiring example to compatriots, especially to the youth, in following the principles of healthy and active life style.
The Head of the state notes that sports and physical training are the main sources of vitality and energy stimulating creative ideas and commitment in their implementation. Ecological and fascinating cycling is a good assistant for supporting of physical form.
Monument of legendary horse shining with gold is placed on pyramid-shaped pedestal in the centre of architectural and sculptural ensemble decorating roundabout at the intersection of Kopetdag Avenue and Andalyb Street and indicating the love of Turkmens to their ‘winged’ horses.
Yanardag is depicted in free flying run. Clear picture of its light and resilient pace makes a feeling that the horse runs on air, flying above the ground as a bird. Elegant curve of its neck, subtly cut head, smooth and muscular lines of the body filled with power of rapid move like an arrow show ideal exterior of the horse and its character features.
Symbol of succession of the best horse breeding traditions of our people is highlighted by the fact that there is a foul next to Yanardag in this monumental composition. Joining of these two images – mighty, proud, powerful and young, fragile and funny, has a deep and many-valued meaning.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov takes big care of improvement of the world glory of ‘heaven’ horses. Each velayat has equestrian complexes – the capital and its outskirts have three similar centres: International Ahalteke Equestrian Centre, Ashgabat Equestrian Centre and Ahalteke equestrian Complex of the President of Turkmenistan.
Turkmen horse breeders working in excellently equipped complexes breed and coach thoroughbred ahalteke horses continuing the breed, which has been formed up through thousands of years, passed from generation to generation s national heritage.
Unique traditions of Turkmen horse breeding enter new stage of development, equipment and technical base of the industry in modern age. National Turkmen Horse Holiday, in which honour the baton of events finishing on coming Sunday has started, is observed on annual basis.
The Head of the State has started his ride from the Yanardag Monument. Beauty of surrounding territory, green foothills are the best companions of sport morning. White –marble magnificence of Ashgabat against the background of the Kopetdag Mountains in the distance match this beauty.
The Head of the State enjoyed the beauty of these places during the ride. The President of the country has looked around the plains covered with spring grass and flowers along his way. Expanse of valleys organically neighbours with modern high-rise buildings of the capital, which surround its southern borders as a pearl necklace.
Poppies generously spread by the spring as red lights set the meadows of fire, having turned it into wonderful canvas made by the brush of the greatest artist – the Nature.
Architectural ensembles of white-marble capital, which became of the most beautiful and comfortable cities of the world for the years of large-scale reforms, shining under the sun have spread next to it. Construction and planting works, which are held in this part of Ashgabat, improve the beauty of rapidly developing and growing main city of the country.
Special attention is paid here to support clean condition and order, which is one of the main component of favourable environment as important condition of high level of life of people.
Having started innovative programme of development of Ashgabat, the President of Turkmenistan immediately set the strategic objective of natural protection on systematic base. In this regard, special attention is paid to ecological issues.
Large-scale green programme, which includes mass campaigns for planting of trees, is a sample of such multidimensional work. Wide green belts and forest zones, which make favourable effect of microclimate and enrich local flora and fauna, are formed in the result.
Nation-wide green campaign have been held in the capital and all velayats in the first spring month of the year, which is held under slogan Turkmenistan – Home of Neutrality, during which 1,604,200 tree seedlings have been planted.
Altogether, it is planned to plant 10 million trees according to the Resolution of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in 2020, the year which is marked with glorious date – the 25th anniversary of neutrality of Turkmenistan. All ministries and departments of the country, administrations of velayats and Ashgabat are involved in green campaigns.
In particular, 5 million deciduous, coniferous, fruit and vine trees will be plnted around the capital between Ak Bugday and Bahereden etraps, Ahal Velayat and the same number in the regions.
At the same time, care of trees planted previously is carried out. Growing forests and gardens grow stronger and decorate Turkmen land becoming green lungs of the country, strengthening and protecting its ecological safety and health of the nation.
Environment protection and careful treatment of nature are priority directions of the government policy of Turkmenistan. All what is done in this field, including popularization of such eco-friendly transport as bicycle is aimed at making of conditions for healthy and full life of people.
From this part of the city where new administrative and business centre is formed up, the President went to the Monument of Neutrality and looked around the view of Ashgabat along his journey.
Magnificent buildings in combination with modern road and transport infrastructure and park zones visually reflects harmonic development of the city. Developed green zones, alleys, parks and gardens help supporting purity of air and ecological balance in the city on proper level and please the eye.
Continuing the ride, the President of the country looked around the facilities, which are under construction in this part of the city, inspecting the situation at construction sites. The Government tribune is one of them where construction is ongoing at high rates.
Today, the development of the main city of the country is planned on long-term basis. Efficient use of advanced technologies, steadfast implementation of innovative programmes of development, creation of comfortable conditions for life including social, living and aesthetic component are the main directions of urban construction policy.
Artistic urban environment is formed up not only by beautiful architecture but also by monumental art like stelas, sculptural compositions, original fountain complexes, mosaic panels on the buildings. Many of them reflects important events of life of the country. the monument in honour of the Word Bicycle Day, which is under construction at the intersection of Chandybil and Bekreve Avenues, will give another expressive feature to the image of Ashgabat.
The resolution on declaration of June 3 as the World Bicycle Day, adopted by proposal of Turkmenistan at the 82nd plenary session of the 72nd UN General Assembly in 2018 indicates high appraisal of the role of our country in development of sports and physical training and health improving movement, cooperation in this field between the states and nations, formation of ecological culture by our country.
Declaration of June 3 as the World Bicycle Day is also an expression of support of initiatives of our neutral states, policy of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, which are comprehensively aimed at strengthening of peace, friendly and constructive relations, including at intensification of international cooperation in sport sphere.
Back in 2018, multifunctional Ashgabat Stadium hosted cycling training, which was entered into the Guinness Record Book as the most numbered cycling training in the world. 3,246 people participated in large-scale cycling event and Turkmen capital has been entered into the famous book for another time.
The longest cycling parade in one line has been held in Ashgabat Olympic village in June 2019 and another world record has been set. The cyclists have formed one line at certain distance from each other and ride around the Olympic village, having covered 3,300 metres. This fact has also been entered into the Guinness Record Book.
Mass cycling rides have been held in the capital and regions this April on occasion of the World Health Day. 3,500 people took part in the event in Ashgabat. Having started from the beginning of the Path of health, they rode along Archabyl and Bitarap Avenues up to the Government tribune in the centre of the city. The length of the ride was 15 kilometres. According to calculations, around 7,000 people took part in in mass cycling rides all around Turkmenistan in general.
The Head of the state holds issues related to comprehensive development of Ashgabat under permanent control. Special attention is paid to high quality of various facilities built in the capital, development of surrounding territory, which provides harmony of architectural image of the city.
During the ride, the President looked around the facilities built in this part on the south of Ashgabat. In addition to the Government tribune, complex of buildings of the People’s Council, Congress Centre, fashionable hotel as well as administrative buildings of the State Commercial Türkmenbaşy Bank and Senagat Joint Stock Commercial Bank are under construction in this part of the city.
In near future, the buildings will be another attraction of white-marble city, having added its architectural landscape organically. On his way, the Head of the State looked around decorative features of the buildings, which are harmonically combined with other facilities of the country.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov is confident that sports is an important condition for strengthening of physical health. Today, the Head of the state has demonstrated again the importance of cycling in strengthening of people’s health.
At present, number of people going in for sports has rapidly increased in the country. the status of sports in society has increased. Increment of number of Turkmenistan citizens, especially children and teenagers engaged in sport activities, is the main strategy of development of national sport and improvement of the principles of healthy life style.
The head of the State pays special importance to expansion of sport and health improving infrastructure and its compliance with world standards. According to instructions of Turkmen leader, all projects of educational and children pre-school facilities have to include well-equipped gyms, basketball and volleyball fields, swimming pools, tennis courts and many other.
Regular sport exercises help people spending free time more efficiently. Physical training make positive impact on attention, memory of people; stimulate intellectual work supporting the formation of harmonic individuality. Physical training strengthens resilience in achievement of target, will and diligence.
Having ridden more than 20 kilometres, President Berdimuhamedov finished his ride at the Monument of Neutrality.
