ASTRAKHAN MEDICAL UNIVERSITY EXPRESSES INTEREST IN ENHANCING PARTNERSHIP WITH THE MEDICAL UNIVERSITY OF TURKMENISTAN
Consul of Turkmenistan in Astrakhan (the Russian Federation) Guich Garayev visited Astrakhan State Medical University (ASMU) and held a meeting with ASMU Rector Olga Bashkina.
Currently, about 200 citizens of Turkmenistan are studying at the university. The parties discussed the prospects for cooperation in the field of personnel training and academic exchanges. Taking this opportunity, the rector addressed congratulations on the 30th anniversary of independence of our country celebrated this year.
The parties expressed the willingness to build up partnership on the basis of the Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of education and health, signed between the State Medical University of Turkmenistan named after M. Garryev and Astrakhan State Medical University in November 2019.
One of the topics of discussion was the issue of voluntary vaccination of Turkmen citizens. Olga Bashkina assured that she would provide assistance in this matter.
As part of his visit to the university, the consul held a meeting with ASMU students from among the Turkmen youth and answered all their questions.
