THE PRESIDENT OF TURKMENISTAN APPROVES DRAFT PROGRAM OF ECONOMIC COOPERATION WITH RUSSIA IN 2021 – 2023

During video conference session of the Government, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has approved the Draft Program of Intergovernmental Economic Cooperation between Turkmenistan and Russian Federation for 2021 – 2023.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Chairman of the Supreme Control Chamber Serdar Berdimuhamedov has told about development of the Program.

It was noted that the document, which is a roadmap for three-year period, covers all directions of productive relations including expansion of commodity variety of mutual trade. Such strategic spheres as industry, energy, agricultural complex, high technologies, service sphere, finances and other have been defined as priority vectors.

Having listened to the report, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted that Russian Federation is one of the leading trade and economic partners of Turkmenistan. Having wide opportunities, fruitful interstate cooperation meets the interests of prosperity of the people of two states.

Speaking of important role of joint Intergovernmental commission in development of effective dialog between our countries, the President noted the importance of regular business meetings, during which common approaches to the formation of the platform for strengthening of effective Turkmen – Russian relations are developed.

Having approved the presented Draft Program, the head of the state requested the vice-premier, Chairman of the Supreme Control Chamber to hold under control the fulfilment of planned events, which are to support the implementation of huge potential for further expansion of the partnership between Turkmenistan and Russian Federation.
