CIS HEADS OF GOVERNMENT TO CONSIDER POST-PANDEMIC ECONOMIC RECOVERY AND DIGITIZATION OF TRADE

A meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government in Minsk on May 28 will focus on issues of post-pandemic economic recovery in the Commonwealth and digital transformation of mutual trade as reported by the Office of the Government of the Russian Federation.
The Council meeting will also discuss issues of preventing the spread of infectious diseases, sanitary control and supervision in the CIS member-states, employment promotion, and combating counterfeit products, among others.
The meeting is expected to culminate in the signing of international agreements, including the Agreement for Cooperation on the Prevention of the Deceptive Use of Trademarks and Geographical Indications.
In the context of the 30th anniversary of the Commonwealth this year, a number of events will be held as part of the meeting to analyze prospects for cooperation given the new economic realities, including amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
Turkmenistan actively participates in meetings of the CIS Council of Heads of Government as an associate member of the CIS and puts forward proposals aimed at fostering cooperation within the Commonwealth. Our country also advocates combining efforts to strengthen peace, security and stability.
