PRIVATE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT PRIORITIES

The textile industry is one of the leading sectors of the economy of Turkmenistan. Thanks to the comprehensive support of the state, it has become the most dynamically developing industry.

During the years of independence, about two billion US dollars have been invested in the construction of new and reconstruction of existing textile enterprises. Now the industry has over 70 enterprises, including large textile complexes, cotton spinning and weaving industries, garment factories, silk processing enterprises, shoe factories, factories for the primary processing of leather and wool.

Along with the development of the public sector in recent years, individual entrepreneurial activity has also rapidly developed, successfully mastering related areas of the textile industry. Currently, industrial enterprises are regularly created in the country to produce products from local raw materials that can replace imported goods, which is one of the priorities for the development of private and public business.

Moreover, entrepreneurs, mastering new niches in the production of products, more and more often achieve significant success. The goods they produce compete successfully in the international market.

Today, there are many examples of how firms organize production of goods, using, among other things, the latest achievements of the chemical industry.

For example, individual enterprise «Milli önüm», located in Turkmenabat, produces polypropylene threads used in greenhouses for tying vegetables.

The demand for these products is growing every day both in the domestic market and abroad. The enterprise, equipped with modern European equipment, employs 15 people. They process about 50 tons of polypropylene every month. Finished products are exported to Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Uzbekistan.

Another individual enterprise, «Abraýly dostlar», located in the Ahal velayat, has mastered the production of yarn from raw materials produced at the Kiyanlyi Polymer Plant. The modern equipment of the Austrian company «SML» makes it possible to produce high density yarn.

The company's products are used for the production of various bags, ropes, mattresses and other products that find an interested consumer in the foreign market.

Individual enterprises like «Milli önüm» and «Abraýly dostlar», creatively looking for the possibilities of producing products in demand on the domestic and foreign markets, not only increase the volume of export of goods, they are also successful in terms of import substitution. Business is only successful when it clearly defines its priorities based on market conditions, which we observe in the modern economy of Turkmenistan.
