CHILDREN'S ROCK FESTIVAL IN "ALEM"

Ashgabat hosted the Children's Rock Festival dedicated to the Day of Rock Climbing. It took place at the artificial climbing wall of the Alem cultural and entertainment center.

The already traditional site for holding a rock-climbing holiday for the youngest athletes, this time met its guests with 12 tracks prepared by members of the Agama alpine club. Almost a hundred children and adolescents aged 4 to 14 years old tried to storm the artificial climbing wall installed in the center of the play area.

Parents and friends watched the attempts to overcome the routes with great interest, encouraging the children. An artificial wall is fenced for safety, participants were allowed to it under the supervision of experienced instructors of the Agama alpine club. Putting on the equipment and listening to a short briefing, the children stormed the climbing walls.

Many people tried their hand for the first time, but they quickly got used to it and found suitable holds for themselves. Some easily passed the trails one after the other. Regardless of age and fitness level, everyone received a boost of positive energy.

Rock climbing is an active sport gaining popularity, included in the program of the Olympic Games. This year, for the first time in the history of this sport, medals were won at the largest tournament on the planet, held in Tokyo (Japan). Next to the artificial climbing wall, two photo stands were organized, illustrating the activities of the Agama alpine club in mountaineering and rock climbing. For the guests of the event, young athletes, who train in the Agama club, clearly demonstrated their skills

According to the chairman of the alpine club Valery Kotvin, rock climbing helps to strengthen the body, develop ingenuity and dexterity. A pleasant bonus will be the acquired knowledge of setting up a tent, collecting a hiking backpack and preparing food. Experienced instructors instill in their wards love and care for the environment.
