NORTHERN REGION IN ANTICIPATION OF THE HARVEST

The northern region of Turkmenistan is ready for a new cotton harvest. An impressive fleet of the necessary agricultural machinery, including over 200 high-performance combines of the world famous brand «John Deere», is in full readiness. 1,790 trucks and tractors with trailers are ready to transport cotton.

The cotton-ginning enterprises of the «Dashoguzpagta» Production Association have also successfully prepared for the new season. In them, if necessary, the equipment of cyclone groups, pipelines, raw materials warehouses and loading and unloading areas were repaired. At the same time, much attention is paid to the issues of further improving the technology of processing raw cotton and improving the quality of products, preventing air and raw materials pollution with soil and mineral dust, ensuring the proper condition of raw materials warehouses and loading and unloading areas.

This year, in the northern region of the country, cotton fields occupied 155 thousand hectares, on which the most optimal for cultivation in local soil and climatic conditions medium staple cotton varieties «Dashoguz-120», «Dashoguz-114», «Gubadag-3», «S -4727», «Jeyhun», «149F». They meet the modern demands of the textile industry, including in terms of strength and average fiber yield.

The largest producer of valuable raw materials in the Dashoguz velayat again promises to be the S.Turkmenbashi etrap, where the culture is located on more than thirty two thousand hectares. The etrap named after S.A.Niyazov, Kunyaurgench and Akdepе etraps also intend to make a significant contribution to cotton production.
