A VIDEO CONFERENCE «INVESTING IN THE EMIRATES» WAS HELD IN ASHGABAT

On September 17, the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Turkmenistan held a seminar "Investing in the Emirates", timed to coincide with the fiftieth anniversary of the formation of the UAE state and the state development plan for the next half century.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and journalists.

The videoconference was opened by the Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Turkmenistan, Mr. Abdulaziz Al Hashemi.

Addressing the meeting participants, the diplomat stressed that there is a close friendship between the Emirates and Turkmenistan, which both states have supported and strengthened for many years, highly appreciated the cooperation and historical ties between the countries. Turkmenistan is the second trade partner of the UAE, and the partnership of our countries will be extremely beneficial for both the Emirates and Turkmenistan. Abdulaziz Al Hashemi stressed that both states have significant potential for further fruitful cooperation.

In the presentation prepared for the participants, the most beneficial directions of the economy of the United Arab Emirates were demonstrated.

Among them is the "Green Economy", because the Emirate of Dubai is among the largest in the world in terms of direct investment in the renewable energy sector. Local experts estimate that large investments in areas such as solar energy will create 160,000 new jobs by 2030. The UAE plans to reduce its dependence on energy resources and turn into a knowledge-based economy, actively developing in a number of sectors.

Another promising area for mutually beneficial cooperation is development in the field of nanotechnology, which, thanks to the UAE's strategy of introducing innovative developments into production, has already significantly improved existing production processes and materials used in construction.

Also one of the most important investment markets is the consumer electronics market.
