RUSSIAN TRANSMASHHOLDING SENT TWO NEW DIESEL LOCOMOTIVES TO TURKMENISTAN

Transmashholding has sent passenger and freight diesel locomotives to the operator of the railway transport of Turkmenistan, Demiryollary, for operation in the territory of this country. About this with reference to the Russian company, according to the Russian agency of economic information "Prime".
The holding's External Relations and Corporate Communications Directorate said:
“Open Joint Stock Company Demirellary purchased from Transmashholding JSC (TMH) a passenger diesel locomotive TEP70BS and a mainline freight diesel locomotive 2TE25KM. Diesel locomotives have been sent to the Ashgabat locomotive depot,”
The equipment was delivered in accordance with the contracts signed last autumn. Diesel locomotives TEP70BS are designed to drive passenger trains on mainline railways with a gauge of 1520 mm (in Turkmenistan, the "Russian" gauge).
The locomotive of the current modification is equipped with a two-wire power supply system for passenger cars, which allows
use it with modern series cars, especially double-deck cars.
Mainline freight two-section diesel locomotive 2TE25KM has an alternating-direct current electric transmission and is capable of
provide the driving of trains weighing up to 6.4 thousand tons.
