THE NATIONAL COMMISSION FOR UNESCO VISITED THE SMALL HOMELAND OF MAGTYMGULY FRAGI

On the occasion of the celebration of the Poetry Day of Magtymguly Fragi and the preparation of celebrations for the 300th anniversary of his birth, the secretariat of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO, together with the Ministry of Culture and public organizations of the country, organized a trip to the small homeland of the great Turkmen poet and thinker.

The delegation of the capital headed by the Executive Secretary of the National Commission for UNESCO, Hero of Turkmenistan Chinar Rustemova arrived in Magtymguly etrap of the Balkan velayat. Here, in the administrative center of the etrap, there is a cultural and memorial complex and a museum of Magtymguly Fragi.

After reviewing the rich exposition closely related to the creative biography of the poet and the national culture of our country, the participants of the meeting held a scientific conference within the walls of the Museum dedicated to popularizing the creative heritage of the Turkmen classic.

During the conference, literary works and manuscripts were discussed, reports were heard on the important role of Magtymguly's poetry in educating the patriotic spirit of modern youth. The significant contribution of the founder of the Turkmen literary language to the development of Turkmen literature and the constant interest of the world community in the creative heritage of the poet were considered.

As noted, active work is currently underway to include the heritage of Magtymguly Fragi in the UNESCO Memory of the World Program, as well as to include a significant date - the 300th anniversary of the Turkmen poet in the UNESCO List of Memorable Dates.
