The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Turkish Republic to Turkmenistan informed that the Turkish news agency «Anadolu Agency» opened its official representation in Ashgabat.

Togan Oral on Wednesday evening in his speech in the briefing for the representatives of the local mass media and accredited foreign journalists in Turkmenistan, which was held in the building of residence of the Embassy of Turkish Republic in Ashgabat, noted that the representation of the news agency «Anadolu» in Turkmenistan was opened in accordance with the document (on cooperation between the Turkmenistan State News Agency (TDH) and the news agency «Anadolu», signed during the recent visit of the President of Turkish Republic to Turkmenistan, this event is considered as the next step towards bringing closer and strengthening the traditional cooperation between the peoples of the two brotherly countries.

The Ambassador of Turkey expressed satisfaction with the high level and dynamics of the recent Turkmen-Turkish relations in all respects, stressing that the opening of a representative office of the above-mentioned Turkish news agency in Turkmenistan, which will be functioning at the level of a local representative (local Turkmen journalist will head the representation), will be important for cooperation in the media of the two countries, which have an indestructible bond of friendship and brotherhood, a historically formed cultural and spiritual community that unites the peoples of the two countries.

The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Turkish Republic to Turkmenistan stated that the level of media and information network increases in Turkmenistan, and said that through the local media of friendly country, we, being the foreign diplomats and audiences, are quickly recognizing and tracking important events in the political and public life in Turkmenistan.

According to the Head of the diplomatic mission of Turkish republic, the work carried out in the field of development of local mass media, especially electronic media in Turkmenistan is commendable and the level of mass media in Turkmenistan has already reached the level of competitive mass media. The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Turkish Republic to Turkmenistan introduced in the briefing Mr. Hayrettin Bektash, a newly appointed Press Counselor of the Turkish Embassy in Ashgabat, and informed that he will actively oversee the cooperation of the Embassy with local media representatives as well as accredited foreign media journalists in Turkmenistan.
