HIGH MEETING AT THE HIGHER SCHOOL OF DIPLOMACY

As previously reported, within the framework of the State visit to Turkmenistan, the President of the Republic of India, Ram Nath Kovind, visited the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, where he met with the faculty and students of the university.
On the occasion of the landmark event, an exhibition of decorative and applied arts was opened in the foyer of the main building of the institute, students of the Mai Kuliyeva Turkmen National Conservatory performed with song and musical compositions.
The meeting continued in the conference hall of the university. The opening speech was delivered by the rector of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. It spoke about the achievements of the university and significant areas of cooperation between Turkmenistan and India, including in the field of education. It was about productive interaction between representatives of the university and Indian colleagues and the intention to develop a dialogue in the future. In particular, successes in the field of cooperation between the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Institute of Foreign Service of Sushma Swaraj of India were noted.
As part of the meeting, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Turkmenistan Vidhu Pithambaran Nair presented an album with commemorative stamps dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and India to the rector of the IMO, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country, Jumamyrat Gurbangeldiyev.
The speech of the President of the Republic of India Ram Nath Kovind reflected the important directions of India's foreign policy, India's cooperation with the countries of Central Asia, as well as key areas of Turkmen-Indian relations and prospects for their development.
As part of the meeting, the distinguished guest took part in the opening ceremony of the "Corner of India", created at the Institute on the occasion of a significant meeting. The significance of this event in strengthening friendship between the two peoples was emphasized by President Ram Nath Kovind.
As the participants of the ceremony noted, the "Corner of India", located within the walls of one of the leading universities of our country - the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, is an excellent symbol of the centuries-old ties of friendship and brotherhood of the Turkmen and Indian peoples, fruitful and successful cooperation between countries, including through education.
Executive Secretary of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO Chinar Rustemova stressed that the "Corner of India" will help the students of the Institute to study in depth the culture of the country, traditions, achievements in science and education, learn more about the historical relations between the states.
Corner of India is fully equipped with the necessary information resources, including audio and video materials. Indian folk instruments are also presented here, a mini-library has been created, which includes books published in various languages, works of classical and fiction, periodicals, photo albums telling about the history of the country.
In the "Corner" dedicated to India, through the materials presented here, interested visitors will be able to expand their horizons and acquire new useful knowledge about the language, culture, national holidays, customs of the country, the modern development of the state and its priorities, including in the field of science and education. . As noted during the solemn event, Turkmen students treated the creation of the "Corner of India" at the university with special interest and attention.
From now on, this place, which embodies the beauty, richness of history, the originality of the culture of a friendly state, and at the same time, the strengthening of bilateral ties and relations between Turkmenistan and India, will become an excellent platform for educational leisure for students and all guests of the university. And the history of this corner, which has already begun its countdown, will be inextricably linked with the visit of the distinguished guest to the institute.
As representatives of the IMO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country emphasized, the meeting of the President of India with teachers and students of the Higher School of Diplomacy has become a landmark event in the history of the university, a new important step in the further progressive development of bilateral cultural and humanitarian contacts.
