Meeting with the WHO Representative to the European Union at the MFA of Turkmenistan

On December 11, 2025, a meeting was held between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Myahri Byashimova and the Representative of the World Health Organization to the European Union, Head of the WHO European Regional Centre for Global Health Diplomacy, Oksana Domenti.

During the talks, the sides reviewed issues related to the development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the WHO, and discussed initiatives and documents proposed for signing with the Government of Turkmenistan.

One of the key items on the agenda was the WHO–Turkmenistan Country Cooperation Strategy for 2026–2030, the preparation of which is at its final stage.

Special attention was given to the WHO initiative to conduct a course on global health diplomacy in Turkmenistan in early 2026. The Turkmen side positively assessed the proposed initiative, noting its importance for capacity building and the training of qualified specialists in the sector.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the sides reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation in the field of healthcare and their readiness to practically advance joint projects.
