A CONFERENCE DEDICATED TO THE 25TH ANNIVERSARY OF TURKMENISTAN'S PERMANENT NEUTRALITY WAS HELD IN TASHKENT

On March 5, 2020, a conference was held at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Uzbekistan, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality.

The conference was attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, heads and representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Uzbekistan, employees of the Institute of Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, scientists of the Academy of Sciences, Institute of History, political scientists, representatives of leading media and Turkmen students studying in higher educational institutions of Tashkent.

Within the framework of the conference, an exhibition of the works of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was organized, as well as a video showing the country's achievements.

Opening the conference, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Uzbekistan told the participants about the history of Turkmen neutrality, its role in strengthening peace and security, strengthening stability and sustainable development in the Central Asian region and the world as a whole.

The participants were also informed about planned events in honor of the 25th anniversary of the neutral status of Turkmenistan at various levels, which are scheduled to be held in 2020, both in Turkmenistan and abroad.

At the same time, the participants were informed about the international conference: "The policy of Neutrality and its role in ensuring international peace, security and sustainable development", which will be held on December 11-12, 2020 in Ashgabat.
