EMBASSY OF TURKMENISTAN IN PRC ORGANIZES DISTANCE SPORTS FLASHMOB
In order to ensure the implementation of the state policy on the popularization of healthy lifestyle principles among the youth, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the People’s Republic of China organized a distance sports flashmob for Turkmen students, getting education in the PRC.
On April 19, the specialists of the diplomatic mission of our country, members of their families, and Turkmen students, living in various cities of China, took part in competitions in cycling, running, badminton, volleyball, chess, football, basketball, table tennis, billiards and other sports, including the national Chinese game.
In connection with the massive spread of COVID-19 and the ongoing quarantine regime in educational institutions of the PRC, joint training and sports events were coordinated in a video conference format. The event brought together 120 students, studying in universities of Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Xi'an and other Chinese cities, as well as the specialists of the embassy and members of their families.
Opening the event, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the People's Republic of China, Parahat Durdiyev focused on the successes achieved by Turkmenistan in the organization of the mass sports movement and the development of sports, in promoting the principles of a healthy lifestyle, raising a physically and spiritually strong generation.
It was also underlined the importance of observing personal hygiene rules, using individual protective gear and disinfection, as well as maintaining physical activity in the context of the coronavirus pandemic.
Another topic of the online meeting with students was the events held in Turkmenistan to mark the 25th anniversary of getting the status of neutrality by Turkmenistan and other significant dates of the national calendar.
At the end of the speech, the Ambassador, on behalf of the Turkmen citizens in China, expressed gratitude to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for all possible support.
