The annual general meeting of the Asia Pacific Forum (APF) – is a meeting of the counsellors and members of organization, which provide an opportunity for the participants to assess a progress reached during the work of forum for last year. This is a platform for experience and knowledge exchange, and for discussion of matters of mutual interest.

In accordance with tradition, for participation in the work of Forum the counsellors invite the representatives of the UN Agencies, The Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI), which have filed or planning to file a membership application in APF, and other concerned parties in observer capacity. Turkmenistan participated in observer capacity.

APF is a key partner in the process of development of the institutional potential of the Authorized Representative for Human Rights in Turkmenistan for accreditation by the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI). It should be noted that next year the Office of the Ombudsman of Turkmenistan, under the sponsorship of UNDP, is planning to file an application for accreditation in Alliance.
